The time has come: the gates of the empire are open. Ottomaan is a free text game set in the Ottoman Empire of Sultan Süleyman, around 1520. You play it in your browser, on your computer, tablet or phone, and there is nothing to download.

From reaya to sadrazam

You start at the bottom as reaya, an ordinary subject. With deeds on the bazaar, stolen horses and services for the city you earn akçe and prestige. That is how you climb rank after rank, up to beside the throne as sadrazam, the grand vizier.

What you do in the empire

Steal figs from a fruit stall or rob an arms convoy. Steal horses, from an old donkey to an Arabian thoroughbred. Forge seals, crack treasure chests and smuggle spices and wine between eleven cities. The kumarhane has eight games and the piyango every Sunday evening. Build your konak from tent to palace, train on the wrestling ground and raise an army in the ordugâh.

Together with your orta

Join an orta, a regiment, or found one yourself. Together you fill the kazan, carry out missions and ride out on akın.

Something to collect every day

Under To do an envelope waits for you every day; come back every day and every seventh one is golden. Vote on the toplists for the click mission: every Sunday the three best voters of the week get akçe and sultani.

The first season

The first season runs until 2 January 2027. After that everyone starts again, with a fair chance to finish at the top.
